The CSI Effect
Popular crime shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, and Law & Order often create unrealistic expectations of forensic evidence by exaggerating its capabilities or oversimplifying its role in criminal investigations. Known as the CSI Effect, this phenomenon can influence how jurors perceive and evaluate evidence in real-world cases.
To help address this misconception, I created an animated explainer video designed to educate criminal case jurors about the CSI Effect and encourage a more informed understanding of forensic evidence.
I brought the project from concept to completion, handling every stage of production, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, illustration, motion graphics, and audio editing. Through engaging visuals, thoughtful storytelling, and approachable animation, I transformed a complex topic into an accessible and informative experience for viewers.
